It's been almost three years (I just checked) since I last played a solo acoustic show and I am pretty excited and nervous.
Over the last three years I have been writing and not doing much with the music I have been completing. I've just been leaving them as dormant voice notes on my cell phone.
However, over the past few months I have been talking with one of my best friends and fellow musician, Anneille Litttle about how I feel I need to return to music on a more regular basis. Anneille has always been one of my biggest supporters, constantly encouraging me to perform again, and just as we concluded our talks about this idea who should I receive a message from? My very talented friend Erin Blackstock.
Erin's story is a good one, so you should consider giving her a follow and learning more about her music.
Erin had been running the Whiskey & Strings open mic for a number of years and had often mentioned her desire to host a Writers Round with talent she'd found from the open mic night. Turns out she was messaging me to say she'd actually done it and wanted to know if I'd be a part of it… to which I replied “maybe”.
Then, after remembering the conversation with Anneille, I messaged her back and agreed to perform.
It's approaching fast and I plan on bringing out all new material that no one has heard before.
This has me very concerned about my ability to perform and the untested materials readiness, but I am gonna do it anyway.
If you were able to get tickets congratulations, because with limited seating available they sold out fast. However, if you missed the boat don't sweat it. I'm certain Erin will be hosting other Writer's Rounds.
Also, I will be looking to perform more often as a solo, and with a new project I have in the works.
So, if you're a fan please follow along on social media and this website as I will be using this platform as my hub for all content and news of what I am working on.
It might be a minute so consider joining the mailing list for notifications from me.
Cheers,
Pat James
