What a great night at the Whiskey & Strings Writers Round this past Saturday.
So much talent on stage performing with me I sometimes forgot I wasn't just an audience member while I listened to Cassie Noble and Sagen Pearse tell stories and sing their songs with so much passion.
I have admitted I was full of nervous energy and definitely felt like I wasn't ready to perform these songs of mine for anyone, but my good friend and fellow musician Cara Lea sent me a last minute message that read, “It's actually difficult to distinguish nervous energy from excited energy. Maybe you're just really excited!”. Turns out she's pretty wise.
The Messhall in Sutton was the perfect venue for this event. It has a great atmosphere and inviting vibe.
The owners were accommodating and really allowed the host of the event, Erin Blackstock to create her vision for the space and set the stage for what I am sure will not be a one off event.
I am so grateful to my friends who came and showed support along with all the awesome people I met at the event. A really great group of people to perform for at my first show returning back to live music.
I must thank my closest friend and also fellow musician Anneille Little for pushing me back into music and being there to help steer me when I go off course.
Looking forward to more small intimate gigs where I can share my music and some recording in the future.
I have some plans, stick around.
