When I started planning this event a couple months ago I knew I wanted to create an evening of storytelling and music, where I could share my songs and their influences with an attentive and engaged audience. I need to thank Mat and Emma Murray for offering up their home and creating the space and vibe of the night. Thanks to Rhodri, Aimee, Steve and Tammy for participating and bringing amazing BBQ for everyone to eat. Also, special thanks to April for creating a Black Margarita in honour of my favourite colour, they were awesome.
The show went off better than I could have ever imagined.
To The Whole Truth, you guys slayed it. Luc Ricci on bass, John Gould on guitar, and Jeff Cox on drums. It’s been a while since I have played and felt so at home and safe in my element. I knew the boys had my back and the energy felt great. Special thanks to Mat Power for providing sound and lighting for the event, I received so many compliments about how great that little basement sounded and how it felt like a proper concert.
This was a fantastic way for me to return to performing and to share my new music and band with you. This event couldn’t have happened without the help of so many people involved, but truthfully I would not even be doing any of this without the push, motivation, hair pulling, late night pep talks and endless belief and support that I received from my best friend Anneille Little.
I need to thank her now (and I am sure continually) for always having my back and pushing me to believe in myself.
She’s gonna hate this publicly but secretly love it.
This was the perfect event to backdrop the launch of my crowdfunding campaign for my first full-length solo album Burn Card. We are already off to a great start with donations and if you want to help me to hit my goals please click here for all donation information.
I want to thank everyone who attended the debut show for Pat James And The Whole Truth and for making it a truly amazing and emotional experience.
Until the next time,
- Pat James
