“To me, this song feels emergent, an aggressive expression of a new and vigorous monster no longer willing to submit to its chains” - Jack Hammond
Pat James EPK
Roots Rock & Americana Singer-Songwriter from Aurora, Ontario
Pat James is a singer-songwriter from Aurora, Ontario, crafting an ear-catching blend of Roots Rock and Americana that combines the storytelling spirit of Bruce Springsteen with the soulful edge of Chris Stapleton.
Built around honest lyrics, memorable melodies, and songs rooted in real life, Pat’s music explores the moments that shape us — love and loss, struggle and redemption, nostalgia, family, and the search for something meaningful. As you listen, you start to hear the influence of artists like Tom Petty, John Mayer, and Bon Jovi woven into a sound that feels both familiar and entirely his own.

With his band Pat James And The Whole Truth, Pat brings those stories to life through a celebration of songs, stories, and connection — where every lyric has a history and every show feels like a conversation.
Before launching Pat James And The Whole Truth, Pat spent years writing, recording, and performing with several bands, most notably The Road Heavy. The band won Rock 95’s Local & Loud in 2015 and spent the following years touring with acts including The Tea Party and Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses), while sharing stages with artists such as Headstones and Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots).
After years of performing, Pat returned to the kind of songwriting that made him fall in love with music in the first place — honest stories, real emotions, and songs written to connect.
The result was his debut album I’d Like To Leave, a collection of 12 songs written through a period of personal change, family loss, and reflection. Recorded over six days at Union Sound in Toronto with producer Dan Brodbeck, the album journeys through fear, heartbreak, nostalgia, resilience, and ultimately finding your way forward.
Released in 2025, I’d Like To Leave was celebrated with a sold-out album release show and has continued to find listeners through radio support, including regular rotation on 89.1 Max FM and features on 94.9 The Rock and Rock 95. Songs from the album have also been added to multiple curated playlists across Spotify and Apple Music.

Pat James And The Whole Truth have brought their Roots Rock sound to stages including Tall Pines Music & Arts Festival and Newmarket Music Festival, continuing to build a reputation for heartfelt songs, powerful performances, and genuine connection.
But Pat’s connection to songwriting started long before the stage.
Growing up in the small town of Aurora, Ontario, Pat lived above his family’s pizza restaurant and spent his childhood carrying around notebooks filled with lyrics from his favourite songs. Before he even understood what being a songwriter meant, he was fascinated by the way music could capture a moment.
At only nine years old, he wrote his first original song — a heart-wrenching ballad about an unrequited childhood crush named Jesse. It was the first step toward a lifelong obsession with turning memories, moments, and emotions into songs.
Today, that same love of storytelling continues through The Backroads Project — an ongoing collection of acoustic performances, behind-the-song stories, reflections, and live experiences exploring the roads we travel, the memories we carry, and the moments that make us who we are.
Pat James is the storyteller.
Pat James And The Whole Truth is where those stories are turned up loud.
The Backroads Project is where listeners are invited to go deeper.
Whether performing stripped-down solo or with the full force of The Whole Truth, the mission remains the same:
Connect with people in a meaningful way — and have a good time while we’re at it.
